New Information Regarding the Arrest of Josh Brolin

Apparently, some new information emerged regarding the arrest of Josh Brolin, Jeffrey Wright and other crew members from the movie “W.” According to KTBS, a witness said that a cell phone recorded a part of the arrest.

Saturday morning, Shreveport police arrested Josh Brolin, 40, Jeffrey Wright, 42, and 29-year-old Eric Felland, a lighting technician, along with other crew members from the movie “W.” Authorities said that Brolin and Wright interfered with police officers who were called at the bar by an employee.

The witness who didn’t give his name said that a person from the bar gave the cell phone to a lawyer for the actors. He also said that Wright was insulted by someone who referred to his race. Also, police used pepper sprays on Wright and Brolin because they wouldn’t let go to each other.

The recording might be used in court as evidence. The city attorney said that the office’s intention was to prosecute the actors and the other crew members because they interfered with officers.

Police Chief Henry Whitehorn said that the case would be submitted to the prosecutor’s office, adding that the police officers handled the incident just like they should have. The case was set for trial in December but prosecutors have to take another look at the case before making a final decision.

Oliver Stone began shooting scenes on “W” in Shreveport back in May. Wright plays former Secretary of State Colin Powell. Elizabeth Banks, who portrays First Lady Laura Bush, and Thandie Newton also star in the film. The film will focus on the life and presidency of George W. Bush and Stone is set to adopt a “behind-the-scenes approach.”

Josh Brolin’s turn in “W” comes after three critically acclaimed films: “American Gangster,” “In the Valley of Elah” and “No Country for Old Men,” which won an Academy Award in February for Best Picture.
