The "The Dark Knight" Is Just One Day Away

The newest Batman movie, The Dark Knight, managed to attract a massive worldwide interest and it is expected to break all the records at the box office with its upcoming release, scheduled to take place on July 17.

Everyone is talking about possibility of becoming the movie with the largest opening weekend in movie history. The title is currently held by Spiderman 3, with a $151 million opening weekend but the forecast puts The Dark Knight way ahead of Spiderman’s figures.

Heath Ledger’s performance has been praised by many with good reason, as he managed to deliver one of the best villain portrayals ever, which has even led to rumors about an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actor.

At the movie’s premiere, that took place at the AMC Loews Lincoln Square, the film’s lead actor, Christian Bale talked to the press, saying that Heath Ledger is the best thing about the film and also that "He steals the movie."

Ledger’s performance manages to even surpass Jack Nicholson’s from the 1989 Batman, delivering a rare display of acting skills and building his character in a unique manner.

The hype generated around the movie’s release was significantly boosted once the news about Heath Ledger’s death, caused by an accidental overdose of prescription drugs on January 22, became publicly known.
