Cynthia Rodriguez told gossip columnist Cindy Adams in an interview published on Thursday that, even though she still loves Alex Rodriguez, their marriage is pretty much over.
In court documents, the 35-year-old woman described the current state of her relationship with the Yankee super slugger as "irretrievably broken." She also said that she doesn’t intend “to mutilate" A-Rod, and denied the recent media reports according to which she spent as much as $100,000 in a shopping spree in Paris.
Cynthia Rodriguez said that nothing about the stories of her trip to Paris was true. First of all, since she got married, Cynthia never went anywhere without her husband or family, she added. As for her alleged trip to the super-fancy expensive restaurants in Paris, Cynthia denied it all.
"I spent the most innocent four days with my children's godparents, who are as close to us as family," she said.
The relationship between the two went even sourer after a few days ago a former Boston stripper said that she slept with Alex Rodriguez twice in 2004.
Cynthia couldn’t take it anymore and filed the divorce papers Monday in Miami-Dade County Family Court, accusing her 32-year-old husband of "extramarital affairs." She didn’t give any names regarding A-Rod’s affairs. When asked about Alex Rodriguez’ alleged sexual relationship with Madonna, Cynthia’s lawyer, Earle Lilly, denied speculation and labeled it as "an affair of the heart" that had nothing sexual in it, People.com reported.
Madonna also denied having an affair with Rodriguez. The “Material Girl” said that her marriage to Guy Ritchie is going well and all the reports about their imminent divorce were false.
"I am not romantically involved in any way with Alex Rodriguez. I have nothing to do with the state of his marriage or what spiritual path he may choose to study," said Madonna.
A-Rod, who already earned $185.45 million so far with the Texas Rangers and Yankees, is in the first season of a $275 million, 10-year contract with the Yankees. However, his soon-to-be ex-wife only wants their two kids (Natasha Alexander, 3, and 2-month-old Ella Alexander) with child support and alimony, their $12 million Florida mansion and her Mercedes.
