Barack Obama and His Family Appear on “Access Hollywood”

Last week, while Barack Obama was in Butte, Mont. with his family to campaign on the Forth of July and also to celebrate his 10-year-old daughter’s birthday, the presidential candidate met with “Access Hollywood’s” Maria Menounos to be interviewed.

According to MSNBC, Maria Menounos said that Barack Obama, Michelle Malia and her 7-year-old sister Sasha were very relaxed and casual about the interview.

Malia is the one who helps Senator Barack Obama remain cool. She remembered that one time when her dad shook Sam’s hand, a friend of hers. She told him that he should have just said “Hi” because only adults shook hands.

“You really don't shake kids' hands that much ... You just wave or say hi,” she said in the interview with “Access Hollywood.”

Also the girl plans to redecorate the White House, in case her dad gets elected. Malia and Sasha would be the youngest children to live there since Amy Carter arrived as a 9-year-old in 1981.

“I enjoy decorating so I get this whole new room to do whatever I want,” Malia said.

Barack Obama said that it was more difficult to spent time with his family but they learned how to make the best of it. Michelle Obama said that they planned picnics and went to fairs and do other things that their children would enjoy. Barack Obama said that they would speak on the phone “at least once a day.”

“I’m usually the one on the road so I’m calling, calling home,” said the senator.

Regarding fashion and style, Michelle Obama said that her husband’s pants, the ones he was wearing then, were very old. She said he had that pair for 10 years. She also said that, with the primary over, she got to spend more time with her husband.

The couple has been married for 15 years. They first met following Harvard Law School. Michelle said that her husband “swept her of her feet.”
