Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban welcomed their daughter, whom they named Sunday Rose Kidman Urban, on Monday. The baby girl weighed in 6lbs 7.5oz. The Academy Award-winning actress gave birth in Nashville, where the couple lives in a gated community.
Nicole Kidman, a practicing Catholic, met country singer Keith Urban in 2005 at G'Day LA, an event honoring Australians. They wed in 2006 at the Cardinal Cerretti Memorial Chapel in the grounds of St Patrick's Estate, Manly in Sydney.
Nicole Kidman, 41, already has two children she and actor Tom Cruise adopted during their 10-year marriage. Isabella is 15, while Connor is 13. For Keith, 40, this is the first baby. The Academy Award winning actress and the Grammy Award winning singer married in June 2006, having begun their romantic relationship a year earlier. Nicole has been open about her desire to have a child for a long time now.
In an endearingly straightforward interview which appeared in last year’s October edition of Vanity Fair, the 40-year-old confessed that she had wanted to have babies from the very beginning of her marriage to former husband Tom Cruise. The two wed in 1990.
“From the minute Tom and I were married, I wanted to have babies,” the Australian actress says. “And we lost a baby early on, so that was really very traumatic. And that's when it came that we would adopt Bella.” The couple adopted Isabella in 1992 and Connor in 1995.
The two children now shuttle between their mother’s place and their father’s, who has in the meantime married Katie Holmes, with whom he has daughter Suri. Also last year, she told Marie Claire in its December issue that Isabella and Connor tend to spend more time with their father in L.A.
