I don’t know about you guys, but playing with Aerosmith is just something I didn’t even dare to dream of. Having them in my living-room would be another thing, but thanks to Guitar Hero, I will be just one of the millions of happy fans that can make both of their dreams become reality.
“Guitar Hero: Aerosmith” is much like Guitar Hero III, but with more of a personal feeling for all those classic rockers out there. They now have the opportunity to be a part of the Aerosmith history, from the Nipmuc High School to the star-studded halftime show at the Big Game.
The game offers an exclusive chance to enter the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, by offering all Guitar Hero and Aerosmith lovers out there the opportunity to fill in Joe Perry’s shoes and play alongside Steven Tyler in some of the best concerts the world has ever seen.
The “Guitar Hero: Aerosmith” soundtrack is comprised of 40 tracks, 60 percent of which are Aerosmith tracks. In addition to that, players get the chance to perform tracks by Lenny Kravitz, Run DMC, and Stone Temple Pilots.
Leaving that aside, you might find sharing the stage with the legendary stars a bit pricy and those who’ve tried Guitar Hero III will probably find this expansion not as rewarding. For those who believe in variety, the expansion might sound a bit dull.
In terms of reactions, the game received mixed reviews, with some criticizing the failure to include some Aerosmith hits they consider to be a must or the lack of real difficulty compared to Guitar Hero III, and others considering it to be a good tribute to a legendary rock band.
In the meantime, for those who prefer to wait, Guitar Hero World Tour is coming up, with a little extra than what we were used to, namely an electronic drum kit and a microphone, as well as a redesigned guitar and the largest on-disc selection of music to date.
