"Zoey 101" star, Jamie Lynn Spears, who gave birth to a baby girl Thursday morning, is receiving all the support she needs, not just from her family but from Nickelodeon as well, despite having pulled the plug on "Zoey" earlier this year.
Everyone's sending their best wishes Jamie Lynn's way after she bravely delivered her first child, a healthy baby girl, Maddie Briann, via Caesarean section at Mississippi Southwest Regional Medical Center in McComb, Mississippi. The baby girl weighed seven pounds, 11 ounces.
"We wish her and her family well," a rep for Nickelodeon was quoted by E!Online as saying, while former costars of the 17-year-old were also quick to congratulate her. The Nickelodeon cable network said in January that the show would go on with its fourth season, which was done shooting last summer before Jamie Lynn became pregnant, despite the controversy caused by the star's pregnancy.
"I wish her the best," onetime costar Erin Sanders told E! News. "I know she's going to be a great mom. She's always been really great with kids, from what I've observed. Jamie Lynn is a wonderful girl. I'm really excited for her. I know she's going to have a wonderful time."
According to People.com, the entire Spears clan, sister Britney, brother Bryan and father Jamie, made sure they wouldn't miss the big day and flew in on Wednesday, while Jamie Lynn's mom Lynne has been by her daughter's side helping her prepare for motherhood, which included setting up a nursery and attending many baby showers.
The young actress was only 16 when she stunned everyone in December last year revealing in an interview for OK! magazine that she was expecting her first child with boyfriend Casey Aldrige, 19.
In the meantime, the two, who have been dating for two years, reportedly got engaged in March but decided to wait for the baby's arrival before tying the knot. The couple recently purchased a three-bedroom home in Liberty, Miss., where Aldrige went to school.
