Lindsay Lohan’s Parents Continue Children Custody Dispute

Almost a year has passed since their divorce and the Lohans are back in court to fight over custody issues.

There’s never enough publicity for those two, it seems…

Fearing his ex-wife would get all the attention for the recently launched reality show, Michael Lohan reopened the divorce, claiming the new E! reality star didn’t follow a certain visitation agreement involving their two youngest children: Ali, 14, and Dakota, 11. The children live with their mother in Merrick, while Michael now lives in Southampton.

The former couple appeared in a Nassau County, N.Y., courtroom together with their attorneys, to address Michael Lohan’s claim that he hasn’t seen his children because they were too busy starring in E!’s reality series “Living Lohan.”

Following a closed-door session with the two sides, Family Court Judge Stacey Bennett expressed hope that the issue will be solved amiably.

"I'm encouraged that the parties and counsel are working at ways to repair the relationship between the children and the father," Dina Lohan said, as quoted by E! Online.

Through the custody agreement, Dina Lohan received primary custody over the two minors, while Michael was granted visitation.

Lindsay Lohan, 21, and her brother Michael, who is 19, weren’t involved in the legal battle, as they are now of age.

Michael Sr. complained that his ex-wife “missed 19 out of 31 appointments” he had with his kids. He said Dina always had an excuse not to show up and that she was drunk the few times she came with the kids. He also accused Dina of being more a manager of her own kids, than a real mom.

Both Michael and Dina Lohan declared they didn’t want press to involve in their lives anymore. They said they wouldn’t make anymore comments about their private lives.

To make sure their message reached everybody and that the press will eventually leave them alone, they held a joint press conference to make that announcement…
