Sony’s Qore Launches Tomorrow

Yesterday morning, Sony announced the release of a new addition to the PlayStation Network, its new subscription-based "monthly lifestyle gaming program" named Qore. In order to get it, users will have to go to the PlayStation Store by connecting to the PlayStation Network (PSN).

The hi-def gaming show will feature screenshots, behind-the-scene clips, interviews, exclusive news, in-depth game previews, special beta invitations, game add-ons, game demos, concept art and monthly downloads for several games. The provided information will be accessible through a front-end menu, very similar to the ones found on videogames and will enable players to check the content in any order they want.

The cost for a single episode will be of $2.99 and a subscription for a series of thirteen episodes will be of $24.99. The package deal will include a free download of the Calling All Cars game.

The company will include a number of brief commercial interruptions, which will present products that the company believes might be of interest for its subscribers, such as new game releases and movie trailers.

Qore’s sections will be hosted by Veronica Belmont, a former CNET online host.

The first episode, announced for release tomorrow, June 5, will include the games Secret Agent Clank, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, Soul Calibur IV, SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Confrontation, Afro Samurai and also the latest Blu-ray Disc trailer, an exclusive theme song for SOCOM: Confrontation and several art galleries.

New episodes will be released on the first Thursday of every month.
