The Interior Ministry of Pakistan said Tuesday that evidence from the scene indicated that the attack on the Danish Embassy was caused by a suicide bomber.

Denmark's intelligence service also said Tuesday it was possible that al Qaeda or one of the network’s affiliates was responsible for the attack.

"It is ... the assessment that al Qaeda or an al Qaeda-related group is the possible perpetrator behind the attack,” said Carsten Thomsen, spokesman for Danish Security and Intelligence Service, according to CNN.

Thomsen also said that the Danish Security and Intelligence Service didn’t exclude the possibility that the bombing could have been the work of other groups.

No one has yet claimed responsibility for the Monday attack.

The blast from the Danish Embassy located in Islamabad killed at least six people and injured about 24 others.

This attack happened after al Qaeda deputy leader Ayman al-Zawahiri sent a video message six weeks ago, saying that Muslims must join forces against Denmark.

The message was sent because Danish newspapers republished cartoons which caricatured their Prophet.

Officials said that a car pulled up near the embassy exploded about 10 to 15 feet from the embassy gate.

The people who died in the blast were all Pakistanis, except for one who had both Pakistani and Danish nationality, reported The New York Times.

This was the second attack against foreigners. In March a bomb was dropped near an Italian restaurant killing one Turkish woman and injuring 12, including some F.B.I. employees who were having dinner there.

The Danish Embassy in Islamabad was closed.
