Infinite Undiscovery to Be Released on September 2

Square Enix, the company that gave the world the popular Dragon Quest franchise, has announced that its latest creation, Infinite Undiscovery, will be released September 2. The platform on which the game will run is going to be Microsoft’s Xbox 360.

The game is developed by tri-Ace in collaboration with Valkyrie Profile. The creators have announced that the novelty of the game is the fact that every action the character controlled by the player does influences what happens in the gameplay. This way, the possibilities of discovering the world are infinite.

The action takes place on a planet controlled by an enigmatic leader, the Dreadknight, and his minions, which call themselves the Order of Chains. The planet’s moon, its source of power, has been ensnared by the Order using massive chains. Without the moon, the planet starts to die and transform in wasteland. People are too scared to do anything, and the only ones who put up a fight against the Dreadknight are small group of people led by Sigmund the Liberator. Our hero, Capell, is a boy who is imprisoned by the order because he was mistaken with Sigmund. As soon as he is rescued from the prison, he finds himself face to face with his look-alike and is drawn in the battle for saving the planet.

More than RPG action, the creators have announced that the game will also feature situational battles in which the player will be able to select characters from a pool 18 choices.

Even though the game will be released for Xbox 360, Square Enix announced in 2006 that the game will be developed for PS3 and Wii also. Whether this will happen or not remains to be seen.
