Famed director Steven Spielberg recently said he was initially reluctant to a fourth "Indiana Jones" film because he considered the trilogy ending perfect. But now, since the seal was broken and "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" is on the verge of its worldwide release, George Lucas confessed that he'd like to make another movie in the series.
Although fans have yet to see and appreciate (or not) the fourth installment of the "Indiana Jones" series which finds Harrison Ford reprising his role as the iconic and adventurous archeologist, they might already have another film to look forward to.
While in France at the Cannes Film Festival where the movie is scheduled to debut, Lucas told Foxnews.com's Roger Friedman that, "I haven’t even told Steven or Harrison this, but I have an idea to make Shia the lead character next time, and have Harrison come back like Sean Connery did in the last movie. I can see it working out."
However, 65-year-old Ford, who returned for the latest Indy film 19 years after 1989s "The Last Crusade," insisted that this is his last "Indiana Jones" flick. He said he would never allow Indiana to become a laughing stock.
"And it’s not like Harrison is even old. I mean, he’s 65 and he did everything in this movie. The old chemistry is there, and it’s not like he’s an old man. He’s incredibly agile; he looks even better than he did 20 years ago, if you ask me," he added. Apparently Spielberg could barely tell the difference between shoots for the third and fourth films while Ford even wore the same trousers he had 19 years ago.
The first three "Indiana Jones" movies, "Raiders of the Lost Ark," "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom" and "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade," have grossed more than $1 billion worldwide, and the fourth one which took a whooping $150 million to make, is expected to smash the box office.
