During a talk show hosted by Ellen DeGeneres on Tuesday, Mariah Carey said she and her new husband Nick Cannon will have another wedding ceremony next year.
"Instead of trying to be like, 'you're invited, but, shhh, don't tell anybody,' we're just going to have another [wedding] next year," Carey told Ellen DeGeneres.
"[Nick's] plan is to have one every year," she added.
The 38-year-old singer and song righter has recently wed Cannon in a small ceremony in the Bahamas. Those attending the wedding were "mainly people there to do my hair and help me with the dress" Carey said. Both brought along only three friends each because they just wanted to get married on a beach and did not wanted anybody taking pictures.
The couple tied the knot at Windermere Island, a seven-mile long island in the Bahamas, just off the mainland of Eluethera, where Carey owns an estate.
"We really do feel we are soulmates," Carey was quoted as saying by People.com. "I never felt a love like this was in the cards for me."
Rumors about their engagement started when Mariah Carey wore a big diamond wedding ring on her finger at the TriBeCa Film Festival, where the two had come to promote their forthcoming movies.
Canon, 27, a star of MTV's Wild & Out, had attended the film festival to endorse his latest role in “Ball Don’t lie”, while Carey came for her role in the movie “Tennessee”.
