Heath Ledger Chilling in New Batman Clip

A new trailer has been released by film studio Warner Bros., offering famished fans another taste of the marvel that is to come by way of “The Dark Knight,” complete with the Joker’s unnerving madness, Two Face’s sick logic and Batman’s unrelenting opposition to crime.

The second full-length trailer for “The Dark Knight,” directed by Christopher Nolan and with Christian Bale reprising the lead role, has made its official debut. Available for downloading at WhySoSerious.com and for viewing here, the trailer is notably different from the one released in December.

Heath Ledger’s Joker character is scary in a realistic flesh and bones way, and he promises the end of Batman and the beginning of anarchy.

“What are you proposing?” one of his sidekicks asks. “It’s simple: Kill the Batman,” he replies in a menacing tone. “The city deserves a better class of criminal and I’m gonna give it to them,” he adds.

The new trailer also offers a good look at Aaron Eckhart playing Gotham district attorney Harvey Dent, who ultimately transforms into the vicious Two-Face. There is one particular shot in the trailer where Dent is holding a gun to his head and while his intact right profile is facing the camera, you can tell that the left half of his face has already been burned.

The Joker is Ledger’s final complete performance in a movie. At the time of his death, in January, he was filming Terry Gilliam’s upcoming film “The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus.”

After his tragic demise, actors Johnny Depp, Jude Law and Colin Farrell were reported to have stepped in to help Gilliam finish the project, as multiple incarnations of Ledger’s character in the film.

“The Dark Night” is due for release on July 18. “The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus” is slated for a 2009 release.
