Two days ago, popular CSI star Gary Dourdan was arrested for possession of narcotics.
According to police officials, the 41-year-old actor was asleep in his car, with the light on, at approximately 5:12 a.m. when a police officer found him. What first caught his attention was that Dourdan’s car was parked on the wrong side of the road.
After waking up, the actor seemed very disoriented and was possibly under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
After searching the vehicle, the police officer found cocaine, heroin, Ecstasy, several prescription drugs and drug paraphernalia, which was more than enough to arrest Robert Gary Durdin, as he was identified on his California driver’s license.
He was taken into custody and booked for possession of narcotics and dangerous drugs at the Palm Springs jail facility. After spending about 4 hours imprisoned, he was released at 10:30 a.m. after paying a $5,000 bail.
The actor was not available for comments, neither were CBS’s officials.
Gary Dourdan has played crime scene investigator Warrick Brown on CBS’s show ”CSI” for the past 8 years. Earlier this month TVGuide announced that the actor did not manage to come to terms on a contract with CBS and will not be returning to the series’ set after his deal expires in May.
Before his popular CSI role, Dourdan appeared in the show A Different World and on the Showtime series Soul Food. He also hosted a BET Spoken Word show – Lyric Café. He starred in the movie Alien: Resurrection and has had several other small parts in other TV series and films.
