Madonna is back. Her new album “Hard Candy” exposes everyone to the strongly influenced hip-hop sound and youthful lyrics of the new Madonna. Even if the star is in her late 40’s she seems to be in an excellent shape and also, as usual, knows exactly what to do and say in order to attract the media and the fans.
The pop-star requested the help of some of the biggest hip-hop producers such as Pharrell Williams, Nate “Danja” Hills and Timbaland. Her 11th studio album is filled with catchy tunes and dance club hits all mixed with an r&b flavor.
Also making appearances on the album are Justin Timberlake and Kanye West. Timberlake is featured on the album’s first single, “4 Minutes,” which was received with great enthusiasm. The next song to be released is “Give It 2 Me,” also a powerful dance tune.
This album is Madonna’s last for Warner Bros. Records, as she has decided to sign a wide-ranging deal with popular concert promoter Live Nation. The one-of-a-kind deal states that Madonna will collaborate with the company for 10 years and is believed to earn an estimated $120 million paycheck.
Madonna’s last album, “Confessions on a Dance Floor,” released back in 2005, sold an estimated 1.7 million copies in the United States and 11 million copies worldwide.
Throughout her career she has managed to sell more than 200 million records worldwide, making her the biggest selling and most successful female recording artist in history.
The pop star recently joined the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame and Museum in Cleveland, Ohio and has had a successful career for more than 25 years. Her first song, “Everybody,” was released on April 24, 1982, after signing a contract with Sire Records. She became famous in the 1980’s with songs such as “Everybody,” “Holiday,” “Lucky Star” and of course, “Like a Virgin.”
