The second place was won by another comedy, “Harold and Kumar Escape From Guantanamo Bay”, that earned $14,570,000.
Last weekend's champion, “The Forbidden Kingdom”, has slipped to the third spot with $11,230,000 in earnings. The movie is directed by Rob Minkoff (“Stuart Little”) from a script written by John Fusco, and features stars Li Bingbing, Collin Chou, Michael Angarano and Liu Yifei. It tells the story of a faraway kingdom accessible only to the initiated, where Chan portrays a kung fu master with a taste for wine and Li a silent monk who seeks peace.
“Forgetting Sarah Marshall,” a comedy rated R for sexual content, language and some graphic nudity (most notably, a rare display of full-frontal male nudity), came in fourth, with $ $11,014,000. The movie opened last weekend on the second place.

“Prom Night”, a PG-13 remake of a 1980 horror film, made it again in the Top 10, with $4,400,000 in ticket sales. The movie tells the story of Donna (Brittany Snow) who is the sole survivor of a stalker who killed her family three years earlier and who has returned to finish his job. Produced by Sony Pictures and its Screen Gems division, the movie’s budget was about $20 million.
Five weeks after its premiere, “21” still managed to attract the moviegoers and it ranked seventh with $4,000,000. In “21”, Kevin Spacey plays the role of Micky Rosa, an MIT math professor who gathers a group of students teaching them how to turn the odds at blackjack in their favor, ranked third with $3,300,000. The total gross of the movie has reached $ $75,775,000.
“88 Minutes”, the long awaited movie in which Al Pacino portrays Dr. Jack Gramm, a prosperous looking Seattle university professor and forensics expert, who is threatened to be killed in 88 minutes, slipped to the eight place $3,600,000.
“Horton Hears a Who!” ranked ninth, with $2,410,000, while McGregor and Jackman's “Deception” opened on the last place with $2,225,000.
