NBA Play-Offs: 2 - 0’s All Around

As the play-offs continued with game two all around, some teams made a powerful statement on their goals for the season. One of those teams is without a doubt the New Orleans Hornets, which now lead the series against the Dallas Mavericks with 2 – 0.

The game ended with a 127 – 103 win over the Mavs.

Chris Paul had a huge game with 32 points, 17 assists, 5 rebounds and 3 steals, actually outshining his excellent performance from the first game. The rest of the squad also had an excellent night, scoring from every angle and converting some rather improbable shots.

David West had 27 points and Peja Stojakovic contributed with 22 points.

"You've got to give them credit, they were on fire tonight. Paul did his thing, but they had their shooters going," Mavericks forward Dirk Nowitzki said according to ESPN. He also added that his team’s game lacks enthusiasm and that they need to play a bit more fired up in order to keep the Hornets from taking all those wide open shots.

Nowitzki had 27 points and Josh Howard added 10 for the Mavericks. Jason Kidd was far from his usual performance, ending the game with 7 points and 8 assists. He had some comments about his team’s defensive plays, saying: "We have to look at the defensive side before we look at the offensive end. We've got to find a way to guard the pick-and-roll. That's not an individual assignment, that's the team."

The San Antonio Spurs won game two against The Phoenix Suns, 102 – 96, and now also lead the series with 2 – 0.

The Orlando Magic, with the help of Dwight Howard’s 29 points and 20 rebounds won by just one point their second game against the Toronto Raptors, 104 – 103 and are also 2 – 0 in the series.
