A recent photo picturing Vice President Dick Cheney during a fishing trip has raised questions among Internet users, turning into a huge phenomenon, after revealing a strange reflection in his sunglasses: that of a naked woman.
This is another example to show the great influence Internet can have and especially what the power of suggestion can make you see.
Indeed, at first look, the image reflected in Cheney’s glasses is that of a bare lady, but a closer inspection reveals the image is nothing more than the vice president’s hand, tossing a fishing line.
Asked by a Los Angeles Times reporter about the matter, Cheney’s spokeswoman Lea Anne McBride answered: “He’s fly fishing. That’s what he’s doing.”
She then added: And no, there were no naked ladies in the vicinity.
The controversial picture was posted on the White House website and it created frenzy on the Internet and on some television shows Thursday, after an anonymous person noticed the reflection in Cheney’s sunglasses was a bit odd.
On Friday, the White House photo office released a high-resolution photograph clearly showing the reflection in the sunglasses is a hand holding a fishing rod.
While some Internet users are still not convinced the photo
is innocent, others are surprised and disappointed that such a silly matter
