For the photo enthusiasts and not only, Nikon has two new propositions. In fact three, but first things first. The Japanese company has introduced the COOLPIX S52c and S52 and both models are based on EXPEED digital image processing concept.

To ensure the quality of the pictures, Nikon has chosen to power its new models with a 9.0 megapixel 1/2.5-in. CCD and a built-in “right-angle” optical lens shift VR (Vibration Reduction) 3x Zoom-NIKKOR lens. The leans offers a 38-114mm range (35mm format equivalent),and overcomes the effects of camera shake to produce clearer, sharper images.

High sensitivity up to ISO 3200 allows for flexibility when shooting fast moving subjects and in low light conditions.

A high-contrast, large 3.0-inch LCD monitor offers excellent satisfaction in handling, shooting and viewing, even out in daylight. The monitor features 230k-dots of high resolution, a wide vertical and horizontal viewing angle of 170 degrees, anti-reflection coating implementing sophisticated finishing technology and an acrylic panel that prevents scratches and fingerprints.

The main technical difference between the two models is that the COOLPIX S52c offers WiFi connectivity. The new COOLPIX S52c and S52 have a sleek design and the first model is available in Gloss Silver and Purplish Black, while the latter is available in Silver, Purplish Black, Coral Pink, Beige Gold, Matte Black, Gloss Red and Forest Green.

According to Nikon, the new cameras will be available next month, and while the S52 has an MSRP of $249.95, the S52c costs only $279.95.

The third camera announced by Nikon is the COOLPIX P80, which combines the EXPEED technology with a 10.1 megapixel CCD image sensor and an 18x optical Zoom-NIKKOR lens. The P80’s 18x Zoom-NIKKOR lens covers focal lengths from 27-486mm (35mm format equivalent).

Similar to the two previous models, the COOLPIX P80 is equipped with Optical Vibration Reduction (VR). The P80 includes intuitive controls via dedicated command and mode dials, providing easy access to shooting controls and exposure mode settings. It offers also a Sport Continuous Mode, allowing users to shoot as many as 30 consecutive pictures at four, six, or a quick 13 frames per second. The P80 includes Nikon’s Imaging Innovation, meanind In-Camera Red-Eye Fix, D-Lighting, and Face Priority AF.

As you can imagine, In-Camera Red-Eye Fix automatically detects and corrects red eye, a, D-Lighting compensates for excessive back-light or insufficient flash in images, while Face-Priority AF automatically finds and focuses on one person’s face or up to 12 people’s faces within one frame. The COOLPIX P80 has a an MSRP of $399.95 and it will be available during this month.
