50 Cent’s former girlfriend, Shaniqua Tompkins, who is also
mother to the rapper’s 10-year-old son Marquise, is upset that 50 Cent allegedly
wants to throw her and the boy out of their
Shaniqua Tompkins filed a complaint Wednesday in New York
State Supreme Court in
Tompkins alleges that the $2.4 million
“This is somebody who was with him when he was shot and who
nursed him back to health,” Tompkins’ attorney, Paul Catsandonis, told the
Associated Press. “I think what he's doing is horrible.”
The rapper’s lawyer, Bret Kimmel, has not commented yet.
Catsandonis however is indignant at the rapper’s alleged
intent to evict mother and son. “This was a house that was promised to Shaniqua
up until the closing. Then he decided not to put it in her name. Now he's
trying to put her out of the house. This would mean evicting his own son,” he
added.
50 Cent is famous for having survived a brutal attack in
2000, when he was shot nine times at close range outside his grandmother’s
house in
50 Cent recovered well from the life-threatening experience,
but his musical career was in jeopardy for a while, after major labels learned
of the shooting and kept their distance. His luck changed when he met Eminem
and later signed with Universal-owned Interscope Records.
He has since received 13 Grammy Award nominations.
