Fire Damages Tom Clancy’s House
According to the Maryland authorities, a fire damaged the house of Tom Clancy, the well-known author of espionage and military books.

The Maryland fire marshal's office, quoted by the Associated Press, said that Tom Clancy was at home when the fire broke out, but nobody was injured during the incident.

About 50 firefighters were called at the scene and they managed to control the fire in a matter of minutes. The cause of the fire is yet to be determined. The damages caused by the fire are estimated to be somewhere around $20,000.

Tom Clancy, who is 60 years old, was born in Calvert County, Maryland, where he currently lives. He registered his first commercial success in 1984, with the political thriller “The Hunt For Red October”.

Earlier this week, Ubisoft has announced that it has acquired the full rights to the Tom Clancy name and its related IPs "on a perpetual basis and free of all related future royalty payments."

Besides his prolific activity as a writer, Tom Clancy is also one of the owners of Baltimore Orioles, a MLB team.
