Idol: Will Sickness Save Ramiele?
Last night, the top 10 contestants performed on American Idol. Unfortunately, it seems like the blonde country girl who can't sing, Kristy Lee Cook, is safe for another week. Fortunately for her, Ramiele Malubay was allegedly sick and shouted "Alone" by Heart. She also wore high-waist shorts, tall boots, and an off the shoulder top, all of which and each individually made her look silly. Judges sympathized with her singing while sick, which didn't make it less annoying.

Next on the sing-a-song-from-the-year-you-were-born week was Jason Castro, another unimpressive performance. It is his birthday today, and he lied something about not knowing his birth sign. He sang “Fragile” by Sting with his guitar, and his performance was the most forgettable of the evening. Simon said it sounded like something you’d hear outside of a subway station and that he needed to take the competition more seriously.

Syesha Mercado performed "If I Were Your Woman" to the satisfaction of the judges. Paula said that Syesha is now the dark horse in the competition, and even Simon had something positive to say, claiming it was her best performance to date. She's safe from the bottom three, that seems certain.

Chikezie Eze tried on "If Only For One Night." It seems he followed his gut on this one and he apparently was right. His heartfelt delivery was spot on, and even if I generally don't like ballads I think Chikezie was good. And yes, it was somewhat "cheesy" as Simon called it. He appears safe from being kicked out.

Brooke White stopped into the song and restarted, in an Idol first, but judges were understanding, surprisingly. A great performance was pulled out by Michael Johns who started somewhat mediocre on Queen's "Will Rock You" and rocked the next half with "We Are The Champions." Carly belted "Total Eclipse of the Heart". Archuleta was less good than expected with “You’re the Voice” while Kristy Lee Cook, who should have been kicked out last week, cheated by singing “God Bless the USA” and managed to survive another week. Too bad! She was also chosen as the next Vote for the Worst Idol choice, after Overmyer was kicked out last week.

Cook rocked Billie Jean, and, surprisingly, it sounded great! Overall, it should be Ramiele or Castro to go, but Idol was full of surprises this season.
