Britney Spears’ music career may have slowed down a bit but this says nothing about her acting abilities, now does it?
Celebrity gossip site TMZ.com reports that Brit Brit is preparing for a small guest part on CBS sitcom “How I Met Your Mother.”
It appears Britney’s agent Jason Trawick from William Morris made the deal with the show’s producers. TMZ quotes an unnamed source who called it “a small legitimate project that will keep her busy doing something.”
Father Jamie Spears, who was recently named Britney’s conservator through July 31, reportedly approves of his daughter’s plans. People magazine has already received confirmation from a rep for the show.
The 26-year-old mother of two will join the cast of Josh Radnor, Jason Segal, Cobie Smulders, Alyson Hannigan and Neil Patrick Harris. Pink Is the New Blog, who reported the story first, announced Monday that Britney had already met the cast at the FOX Studios lot for the episode read-thru.
She was reportedly “really funny” and “very professional” during the meeting.
Britney has had experience with television shows before. She appeared on an episode of NBC’s “Will & Grace” in 2006, where she portrayed a conservative talk show host.
Before that, the pop star had lighted up the TV screen with reality television series “Britney & Kevin: Chaotic,” starring herself and then-husband Kevin Federline; the show chronicled their relationship (pre-divorce of course).
Britney’s life seems to be getting back on track as it assumes normalcy once more. Los Angeles Superior Court Commissioner Reva Goetz ruled Monday that she receive a debit card with a weekly allowance amounting to $1,500.
Jamie’s lawyer, Geraldine Wyle, said it was “so she can spend money, have her freedom, and make choices about how she wants to enjoy her life,” per TMZ.
