Come fall, a coffee table book about fashion titled “Influence” and penned by Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen will be available through Penguin Group.
The 21-year-old twins are trying their hand in the art of the written word. “Influence” will feature artists and fashion designers who have inspired the petite businesswomen in their own fashion line and personal choices.

The book will include “exclusive photographs of Ashley and Mary-Kate from world renowned photographer Rankin, and a wide variety of other never-before-seen materials and interviews from Mary-Kate and Ashley's personal collections,” the statement reads.
Artists and designers featured in the book are Bob Colacello, Christian Louboutin, Lauren Hutton, Terry Richardson and Jack Pierson, among others.
“Mary-Kate and I have filled ‘Influence’ with the most
interesting, challenging, creative people we know — the ones who helped pave
the way for us and our generation,” Ashley Olsen said in a statement, as quoted
by the Associated Press.
“Ashley and I interviewed the people who have inspired us, with the hope that they will inspire and teach others,” her twin Mary-Kate Olsen added.
This new project adds to the long list of activities the fraternal
twins have dabbled in successfully over the past decade and a half, ever since
they wooed
They have acted in several other movies and television series; they have their own new couture fashion labels The Row and Elizabeth & James; and they merchandise their image in a variety of ways.
In 2008, Forbes.com listed Mary-Kate & Ashley Olsen at No. 11 on its The Richest 20 Women In Entertainment roster, noting that their Dualstar Entertainment Group, established in 1993, sells $1 billion worth of merchandise worldwide a year.
Their net worth was estimated at $100 million and they placed ahead of Britney Spears, Cameron Diaz, Gisele Bundchen and Nicole Kidman.
