Apple Inc. announced Tuesday an expected update to its performance notebook line MacBook Pro.
Prices start at $1,999 for a 15" MacBook Pro with a 2.4GHz Core 2 Duo Intel processor, 2GB of RAM, 200GB hard drive and a nVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT video card with 256MB of memory. The most expensive model is the 17" MacBook Pro with 2.6GHz processor (Penryn, with 6MB of cache memory), 4GB of RAM, 300GB hard drive, LED-backlit high-resolution display, 512MB video card and the Apple remote, with a price tag of $3,643.
Apple is no longer including the Apple Remote free with its laptops, so you have to pay $19 for it. Each notebook comes with a built-in iSight, 802.11n AirPort, and ExpressCard/34 expansion card slot.
As expected, Apple said the new MacBook Pro includes the multitouch trackpad, first introduced with the MacBook Air. The innovative trackpad lets users rotate photos and browse Web pages using gestures such as pinch, rotate, and swipe.
