Aaron Carter Joins Roster of Arrested Celebrities
Young pop singer Aaron Carter, sibling of the more famous boy band member Nick Carter, was arrested Thursday by Texas police for investigation of marijuana possession, authorities said.

Aaron Carter, 20, was driving his Cadillac Escalade in Junction, Texas when he was pulled over for speeding. A search of his vehicle revealed at least two ounces of marijuana, celebrity gossip site TMZ.com reports.

Carter was alone in the car. He was taken to jail, where he was to wait for a Friday morning appearance before a magistrate, Kimble County Sheriff Mike Chapman told People magazine.

The cutesy heartthrob has mostly stayed out of trouble ever since debuting in the music industry as a 10-year-old. He was at one time the proud male to cause a rift between teenage actresses Hillary Duff and Lindsay Lohan, who both allegedly dated him.

Aaron joined brother Nick Carter, of Backstreet Boys fame, as well as their three other siblings on “House of Carters,” a reality show on the E! cable network, in fall 2006.

E! Online quotes Aaron’s MySpace blog, according to which he is busy working on his music. “I spend most of my time in my studio and I will soon be posting some of my new stuff so that everyone can see how much I've been focusing on my music,” the teenager wrote.

It was only a couple of weeks ago that another celebrity’s younger sibling was arrested. Socialite Paris Hilton’s 18-year-old brother Barron Hilton was arrested for DUI in mid-February and released on a $20,000 bond half a day later, after his family refused to post his bond.

Barron was arrested in Malibu on charges of driving under the influence and carrying a fake driver's license. He failed a field sobriety test.
