Despite being nominated in six categories at this year’s
Grammy Awards, the British singer Amy Winehouse will miss the ceremony, because
the US Embassy has turned down her request for visa.
The 24-year-old soul singer received nominations for all
four top categories: album of the year for "Back to Black," song of
the year for “Rehab”, record of the year and best new artist.
In a press statement the Outside Organization, which
represents Amy Winehouse, said the singer “although disappointed with the
decision has accepted the ruling and will be concentrating on her
recovery"
