Olga Kurylenko Joins Gemma Arterton as Bond Girl
Three days after announcing that British newcomer Gemma Arterton would be a Bond girl in the next installment of the James Bond franchise, the film’s producers revealed that Ukrainian actress Olga Kurylenko has also joined the cast.

The forthcoming installment of the 007 franchise, with the working title of “Bond 22,” has two new Bond girls starring opposite Daniel Craig: Gemma Arterton and Olga Kurylenko.

While Arterton, 21, will have “a nice-sized role,” according to a rep for Santa Monica-based Danjaq Prods., as MI6 Agent Fields, the 28-year-old Kurylenko will have a leading role.

Filming began yesterday at Pinewood Studios in London for Columbia Pictures and MGM. Marc Forster is directing the film, from a script he penned together with Paul Haggis based on a screenplay by Neal Purvis and Robert Wade.

Producers Michael Wilson and Barbara Broccoli said Monday: “We are fortunate to continue in the Bond tradition of attracting the finest international actors for our starring roles.

“Olga Kurylenko will play the dangerously alluring Camille, who challenges Bond and helps him to come to terms with the emotional consequences of Vesper's betrayal,” the two were quoted by the Daily Mail as saying.

Kurylenko, a model and actress of Ukrainian origin, recently starred in a segment of the movie, “Paris Je T'Aime” opposite Elijah Wood and in “Hitman” alongside Timothy Olyphant and Dougray Scott.

Arterton, a graduate of the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts, currently co-stars alongside Colin Firth and Rupert Everett in “St. Trinian’s,” directed by Oliver Parker.

It is thought that “Bond 22” will take up where 2006’s “Casino Royale” left off and follow 007 as he infiltrates a drug ring flooding Britain with heroin.

The film’s cast includes Dame Judy Dench as M, Jeffrey Wright who plays Felix Leiter and Giancarlo Giannini who plays Mathis and French actor Mathieu Amalric as Bond's main adversary.

“Casino Royale,” which saw Daniel Craig embody James Bond for the first time, had a massive success in ticket sales, grossing nearly $600 million worldwide.

According to the Daily Mail, Craig recently signed a £25 million contract to star in another four Bond movies. The 39-year-old actor is the sixth to portray the smooth secret agent, following in the footsteps of Sean Connery, George Lazenby, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton and Pierce Brosnan.

The film is due for release in early November.
