Lenovo Reveals Brand New Notebook Line

It was time for a change for Lenovo! The popular Chinese company revealed on Thursday a brand new line of notebooks that will target people interested in using their computers mainly as entertainment tools. The three products that Lenovo unveiled on Thursday fall under the new IdeaPad brand, which is the consumer side of the company’s mobile PC business. Until the new IdeaPad brand, Lenovo was best known in the United States for its ThinkPad line of business notebooks.

However, it seems that the Chinese company wants more than creating tough business mobile computers! And the IdeaPad Y510, Y710 and U110’s features are smart enough to launch Lenovo ahead of many rivals. The three brand new notebooks are powered by Intel’s dual-core Centrino mobile platform, they have five Dolby Home Theater speakers, Wi-Fi support, DVD/CD recordable combo drives, frameless screens, touch-sensitive control surfaces and other features. Interestingly enough, Lenovo equipped its new notebooks with facial-recognition technology for security purposes.

Lenovo’s brand new notebooks’ main rivals are represented by HP’s Pavilion entertainment notebooks and Dell’s XPS line. They all combine sleek design with smart features for playing and organizing video and music tracks. Still, Lenovo bets on its new notebooks’ design, their VeriFace Face Recognition software and Dolby Home Theater system to differentiate them from HP and Dell’s similar products.
