Symantec Announces Norton AntiVirus 11 for Mac
Recently, Apple’s Mac operating system has become more and more similar to its rival, Microsoft’s Windows. About two years ago Mac was considered one of the most secure operating systems, while Windows was the black sheep of the industry.

However, with Leopard launched on the market and Mac becoming more and more popular, Apple’s OS security has also started to be in danger. In the last several months, security researchers found almost 150 bugs especially created for Mac.

In this context, when Mac is no longer a stable, partially untouchable OS, Symantec announced a new version of its Norton AntiVirus, especially created for Mac and its most popular Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard version. The company claims that Norton AntiVirus 11 for Mac will be able to protect users by automatically detecting and removing viruses, by scanning and cleaning the files they downloaded and their email attachments and by protecting against all kind of software vulnerabilities.

Norton AntiVirus 11 for Mac features vulnerability protection technology that watches the web application layer and it was said to also scan for both PC and Mac vulnerabilities and viruses.

Similar to previous versions, Norton AntiVirus 11 for Mac will automatically update its virus and vulnerability definitions.
