Actress Jennie Garth became the most recent casualty on ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars,” as she was eliminated Tuesday night, leaving Melanie Brown, Marie Osmond and race car champ Helio Castroneves battle it out between themselves.
Although Jennie Garth and partner Derek Hough received a perfect score of 30 from the judges on Monday night’s performance, fans voted for her fellow dancing opponents and she was eliminated.
The “Beverly Hills, 90210” actress has kept a blog on OK! Magazine’s website throughout her time as a contestant on “Dancing with the Stars” and wrote on Nov. 20, the night she was eliminated: “I hate to say it, but I knew this was coming. Not that I knew exactly, but I had a feeling because Marie has a lot of really devoted fans.”
It seems she also had a foreboding, as former cast mate on “90210” and friend Ian Ziering left the competition in the ninth week as well, when he competed on the third season of the show. “And of course, last season my good friend Ian Ziering also went out at the same position. But I'm not going to sit here and say there's some kind of 90210 curse!”
“It’s been a blessing to be part of the show and it's now a blessing to go back and be with my family full-time. Being on the show has really made me realize my priorities in life. Actually, I always knew what they were, and this experience has just reinforced the feeling that spending time with my family is the most important thing to me,” the 35-year-old actress wrote.
She and actor Peter Facinelli have been married since January 2001 and have three daughters: 10-year-old Luca Bella, Lola Ray, almost 5, and 1-year-old Fiona.
Garth said during Tuesday’s show that she is pleased to have shown her daughters that perseverance is rewarding.
After the show, she told People magazine that she was simply happy to go back to being a full-time mom: “Come to my house. You won’t want to leave.” She also praised her dance partner: “Derek is so talented. I think he has such a promising future ahead of him. I was so blessed to have him as my partner.”
While Garth remains famous for her role as Kelly Taylor on the television series “Beverly Hills, 90210,” she most recently starred alongside Amanda Bynes on the sitcom “What I Like About You.”
