Mozilla Releases Firefox 2.0.08
Mozilla unveiled a new update for its popular browser Firefox, which fixes several security flaws. Firefox 2.0.0.8 addresses problems such as crashes with evidence of memory corruption and  XPCNativeWrapper pollution using Script object. Other patches include possible file stealing through sftp protocol, file input focus stealing vulnerability and URIs with invalid %-encoding mishandled by Windows.

Firefox 2.0.0.8 is also compatible with Mac OS X 10.5, the new operating system from Apple which is set to be released on October 26.

Still there are several known issues in this version. Mozilla noted that on OS X 10.5 (Leopard), there are known problems with some media plugins as well as Add-ons that contain binary components. Also, the tabs in Preferences, Advanced will not render properly. The "Close Other Tabs" action on the shortcut menu of a tab can fail with an error when more than 20 tabs are open and after installing a new plug-in Firefox may continue to display information for the older version of the plug-in in about:plugins.

In Firefox 2.0.0.8 official releases for Georgian and Romanian are available and the beta release for Kurdish was released for testing.
