Josie Maran Booted from ‘Dancing with the Stars’
Josie Maran became the first contestant to leave ABC’s new "Dancing with the Stars" season on Wednesday night as her performance failed to impress the voters.

Although Maran, 29, and her professional partner Alec Mazo only managed to score a mere 16 points for their cha-cha-cha and foxtrot routine, the supermodel/actress expressed her gratitude for being given the chance to participate in the first place.

"Thank you for being honest," she said when the results were announced, as Bruno Tonioli compared the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition cover girl to "a beautiful sailing ship stranded on a sand bank."

"Thank you for this amazing experience…This has changed my life. I have the dancing bug—and I'm going to dance alone," she added.

Lucky to stay in the competition were Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban and partner Kym Johnson but their score and fan vote total ultimately edged that of the model and professional ballroom dancer's.

Other celebrities remaining on the dancing show are: Cheetah Girl and Orange County resident Sabrina Bryan, Spice Girl Melanie Brown, race car driver Hélio Castroneves, former "Beverly Hills, 90210" actress Jennie Garth, actor Cameron Mathison, singer Marie Osmond, model Albert Reed and actress Jane Seymour.
