Lily Allen has been banned from the US and she’s venting that frustration by verbally bashing fellow Brit singer Amy Winehouse and American President George W. Bush.
Lily Allen is 22, likes to sing, likes to drink while she sings and really likes to criticize other musicians. Being especially frustrated after her American working visa was revoked earlier this month, based on an alleged clash with a photographer this spring in London, Lily seems to have plenty to say.
During a V-festival performance in Britain, the “Smile” singer made fun of Amy Winehouse and President George W. Bush. Pouring herself a shot of Jagermeister, the singer said: “It's the end of the weekend, you have got to have a drink. Here's to Amy Winehouse... ha!”
It’s been all over British tabloids that Amy Winehouse, 23, made an emergency visit to the hospital earlier this month after collapsing from an alleged cocktail of alcohol, ecstasy and cocaine. She is currently in a rehabilitation facility.
Apparently amused by the situation, Lily further attacked Amy by referring to her extreme thinness: “All these skinny girls in the magazines, 'Look at me, look at me' - heroin addicts! You are not that skinny unless you have an eating disorder or a drug habit.”
Amy, who has had to cancel a scheduled September tour in America as well as her participation at the MTV Video Music Awards because her visa was revoked, did not shy from calling president Bush names and saying: “I couldn't care less if I never go to America again. I would rather be with my man. I've been banned from America. That's nice. Oh well, that means I can't go back there. Good.”
The message on her website, announcing her recent change of plans, is markedly more sober: “I am so disappointed that I won't be able to come to the States at this time. I was really looking forward to playing these shows and being part of the Video Music Awards. I want my fans to know that I'll be back as soon as I possibly can!” she says on her website.
Well, Lily, just bash some more people, maybe it will help you feel better and overcome your grief.
