Eddie Murphy proposed to his girlfriend, Tracey Edmonds, as his spokesperson confirmed today.

"Tracey and Eddie were engaged last Wednesday." the actor’s spokesperson said. "Tracey and Eddie are both very much in love and are excited about spending the rest of their lives together." He added

Quoting a source, OK! Magazine reported Murphy gave Edmonds an enormous yellow diamond from Cartier, but despite the lavish gift the couple want a “a very low key and very romantic” wedding.

In 2005, Eddie Murphy divorced Nicole Mitchell, after a 12-year marriage and five children together.

He started dating with Melanie Brown, but soon they also split up. In fact, Brown has said she didn't know her relationship with Murphy was over until he said so during an interview and questioned the child's paternity.

In June, a DNA test proved that actor Eddie Murphy is indeed the father of Mel B’s two-month-old daughter, Angel Iris.

Ten months ago, while Melanie Brown was pregnant, Murphy began dating Edmonds, the ex-wife of music producer Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds. Edmonds's divorce from ‘Babyface” was finalized in June.

After the DNA test, there were rumors that Murphy and Edmonds have put an end to their relationship, but Trace Edmonds strongly denied the claims.
