Lindsay’s Father Blames Himself For Her Trouble
If you were looking for someone to blame for Lindsay Lohan’s behavior recently that got her arrested twice this year, you found it: Michael Lohan, Lindsay’s father.

Speaking to the media right after Lindsay’s arrest, Michael Lohan, who himself spent a lot of time in rehab and behind bars, said he understands what his daughter is going through.

In an interview with Access Hollywood, Lohan admitted he considers himself one of the main causes for Lindsay’s relapse.

"Yesterday about 6 PM, I just felt I needed to speak to Lindsay so I called her assistant Jenni Muro about four times up to about 12 o'clock at night and Jenni said Lindsay was in the middle of dance lesions for her next movie," Lindsay father said. “Next thing I heard...”

His 21-year-old daughter was arrested Tuesday night in Santa Monica at around 2:00 AM for driving under the influence, driving on a suspended license and possession of cocaine. Last week, the troubled starlet turned herself in to the authorities to be officially booked in the accident she caused in May this year.

"I can feel what Lindsay is going through because I've been there myself," Michael, who served two years in prison for DUI and other charges, added. He is now trying to save his daughter from following the shameful footpath he did.

"I'm accountable for what I've done. I put myself in the position of acting out in the wrong way. I wound up in jail. I was arrested. It's unfortunate Lindsay is experiencing what I did," Michael said.

"When I was torn from my family, I drank, I did coke, I partied, you know, I screwed around. She's doing the same exact thing I did," Michael Lohan told 99.9 MIX FM's Mad Dog and Billie in an exclusive interview yesterday.

"I care about my daughter and other children being okay," he went on explaining, "There's too much pride and greed involved in this and I want nothing but to be there for my kids, while everyone else wants everything else."

Speaking exclusively to celebrity gossip website, TMZ.com, Michael Lohan said that he doesn't believe his very confused daughter can survive this latest DUI storm on her own, and wants to put the nasty custody fight with his estranged wife Dina on hold, in a last ditch effort to save their daughter's life.

"I want to withdraw everything -- court wise -- sit down with Dina as Lindsay's parents and figure out how to help her," he said. "Lindsay can't do this on her own ... when we were together, none of this was happening."
