Thanks To Inzaghi, AC Milan Celebrates Tonight
AC Milan won the Champions League with a 2-1 victory in front of Premiership club Liverpool. Both Italians goals were scored by Filippo Inzaghi. Liverpool has dominated the first half of the match, but the first goal came a minute from the break when Filippo Inzaghi deflected an Andrea Pirlo freekick into the Liverpool net.

Liverpool
captain Steven Gerrard had the opportunity of equalizing for his side in the 63rd minute when he went around Alessandro Nesta, but he side-footed a weak shot that the Brazilian goalkeeper had not problems in saving.

Inzaghi became the hero of AC Milan in the 83rd minute after a Kaka pass beat the offside trap and he slipped the ball past goalkeeper Pepe Reina from an acute angle. Liverpool tried a comeback, with the goal scored by Dutch striker Dirk Kuyt in the 88th minute from a corner, but the match was finished.

AC Milan's victory is their seventh in Europe's premier club competition and avenges their penalty shoot-out defeat against the Reds in the 2005 final.

AC Milan superstar Kaka has dedicated his appearance in Wednesday evening's Champions League final against Liverpool to the cause of hungry children.

"Obviously, Wednesday night is all about winning the Champions League trophy for AC Milan. But personally, I also want to dedicate my appearance in the Athens final to the cause of hungry children," Kaka was quoted as saying in a statement distributed by the World Food Programme (WFP).
